Telehealth is a valuable option whether you have a routine question or need ongoing support. Please see the 6 SMART REASONS for choosing a telehealth visit at the SHC:
1. Convenience
- Flexibility: Schedule appointments at times that work best for you, without the need to travel.
- Access Anywhere: Get care from the comfort of your home or dorm, saving time and reducing stress.
2. Time Efficiency
- Reduced Wait Times: Avoid long waits often associated with in-person visits. Telehealth can streamline the process, getting you seen more quickly.
- Less Time Off: No need to carve out extra time for travel, allowing you to return to your studies or activities sooner.
3. Accessibility
- Easier to Access: Ideal for students with busy schedules, mobility issues, or those who live far from campus.
- Support for Mental Health: Telehealth provides a safe space for discussing sensitive issues, making it easier for students to seek help.
4. Continuity of Care
- Follow-Up Visits: Great for managing ongoing conditions or follow-ups without needing to return to the clinic in person.
5. Safety and Comfort
- Health Precautions: Minimize exposure to illness, especially during cold and flu season or in light of public health concerns.
- Personal Environment: You may feel more relaxed discussing personal health issues from a familiar setting.
6. Cost-Effective
- Lower Costs: Telehealth visits may not only save you time by getting you seen sooner, but can often be more affordable by saving you the cost of transportation and time for travel.
The following Telehealth Services are available to all registered UCI students
- 24/7 online telemedicine appointments with a physician wherever you may be.
